Nigam Prakash Narain vs National Medical Commission

The Supreme Court allowed the appeal filed by Dr. Nigam Prakash Narain challenging the High Court of Patna's decision which had restored the penalty imposed by the Ethics Committee of the Medical Council of India (now National Medical Commission). The penalty involved removal of Dr. Narain's name from the Indian Medical Register for three months. The Court examined the procedural and substantive aspects of the disciplinary action and found merit in Dr. Narain's challenge, thereby setting aside the High Court's order and reinstating the Single Judge's judgment in favor of Dr. Narain.
