The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision that +2 lecturers appointed under Advertisement No. 1/87 are part of the Bihar Subordinate Education Service and entitled to merge with the Bihar Education Service Class II. The court found the notification dated 23.6.2009, which sought to encadre these lecturers with nationalized school teachers, to be in violation of the Bihar Education Code and previous government decisions. Consequently, the court affirmed the High Court's order and invalidated the conflicting notification.
