Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed the Special Leave Petition challenging the Madhya Pradesh High Court's order that condoned the delay in filing a First Appeal against an ex parte divorce decree. The court found that the High Court had adequately established sufficient cause for the delay under the Family Courts Act and the Special Marriage Act. As such, the Supreme Court determined that there was no ground for intervention under Article 136 of the Constitution.
