Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court declared Rule 12(8)(a) of the Madhya Pradesh Chikitsa Shiksha Pravesh Niyam, 2018 as unconstitutional for violating Article 14 of the Constitution. The court directed the State of Madhya Pradesh to fill seven unfilled seats in the first-year MBBS course through college-level counselling within seven days. This decision was made following appeals from private medical colleges challenging the validity of the admission rules.
