Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed an appeal against an interim order of the Bombay High Court which had granted protection from coercive measures to the original accused in a criminal case involving allegations of forgery and fraud. The court examined the legality of the High Court's directive in light of the serious charges under the Indian Penal Code. Ultimately, the Supreme Court set aside the High Court's order, allowing the FIR to proceed without the interim protection previously granted to the accused.
