Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court set aside the Allahabad High Court's order dismissing an application under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, challenging charge sheets under Sections 420, 498A, 323, 376, 506 IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. The Court found the High Court's dismissal to be unreasoned and lacking in application of mind, thereby remanding the case for fresh consideration on merits. The appeal was allowed, and the impugned order was set aside.
