Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court ruled that the refusal by the Union of India to approve the admission of 18 students for the 2015-2016 academic year and 39 students for the 2016-2017 academic year, who were admitted in excess of the sanctioned intake, was contrary to its earlier directions. The Court emphasized that the results of these students should be declared based on an inspection conducted by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) as per Section 13(4) of the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970. The Court held that the students admitted in excess must be allowed to take examinations, ensuring compliance with its prior orders.
