Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the dismissal of a writ petition challenging the constitutionality of G.O.MS. No.68 dated 02.07.2013, which pertained to the appointment of ad hoc District Judges. The Court reiterated that the claims for absorption of ad hoc judges into the regular cadre were previously addressed in Brij Mohan Lal (2) v. Union of India & Ors., (2012) 6 SCC 502, where it was held that such claims lacked merit. The Court affirmed that the appointments made under the Fast Track Court scheme do not guarantee absorption into regular positions, thereby dismissing the appeal.
