Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court ruled that the claim for parity in pay-scales by Ministerial employees of the Madhya Pradesh Police was not justified under the M.P. Police Regulations and the recommendations of the Chaudhary Pay Commission. The Court held that the differentiation in pay-scales between Ministerial and Executive branches was lawful and consistent with the provisions of the Police Act, 1861. Consequently, the appeals against the High Court's decision were dismissed, affirming the existing pay structure for Ministerial staff.
