Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court allowed the application for substitution and condoned the delay in filing the substitution application under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. The Court held that if similarly situated claimants were awarded compensation of Rs.4,000 per lemon tree, the appellants should not be discriminated against due to delay. For pomegranate trees, the Court fixed compensation at Rs.3,000 per tree, aligning with previous judgments, while denying statutory interest for the delay in approaching the court.
