Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Medical Council of India (MCI) to deny recognition to Chintpurni Medical College under Section 11 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, due to deficiencies identified in multiple inspections. The Court confirmed that the college was found deficient to the extent of 100% and supported the MCI's recommendation to debar the college from admitting students for two academic years, 2017-18 and 2018-19. The withdrawal of the Essentiality Certificate under Section 10A was also deemed justified, as the college failed to meet the qualifying criteria set forth in the Establishment of Medical College Regulations, 1999.
