Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court's deduction of 60% from the land value for development charges was excessive and should be reduced to 30%, as there was no evidence to support the higher deduction and the acquired land was in a developed area. The Court affirmed the High Court's valuation of the land but modified the deduction for development costs, allowing the appellants to receive statutory benefits from this re-fixation. The claim for compensation regarding the wells was denied due to lack of evidence.
