Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court allowed the appeal of the appellants, who were accused under Sections 201 IPC, 19(1) and 21(1) of the POCSO Act, and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The Court found that the appellants had no prior knowledge of the alleged rape of the victim and were only involved after the victim was brought to the hospital for delivery. The Court emphasized that the charge against them under Section 19(1) of the POCSO Act was not substantiated as they did not have the requisite knowledge of the offence prior to the incident.
