Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court's direction in Contempt Petition No. 587 of 2014, which found the guidelines framed on 17.02.2014 to be in violation of the earlier judgment dated 17.05.2012, was incorrect. The Court clarified that the status quo order was only applicable until the guidelines were framed, and once they were established, the interim order ceased to have effect. The Court set aside the High Court's order, affirming that the guidelines were valid and did not violate the earlier judgment.
