Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the challenge against the Gauhati High Court's judgment which quashed the termination of the writ petitioners, who were appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioners with powers of Additional Sessions Judge on a contract basis. The Court upheld the High Court's directive for the State Government to initiate the consultation process for the absorption of the writ petitioners into the Arunachal Pradesh Judicial Service as per Rule 7 of the Arunachal Pradesh Judicial Service Rules, 2006. The Court granted a stay on the High Court's judgment pending further proceedings, thereby maintaining the status quo of the writ petitioners' non-reinstatement.
