Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal under Article 136 of the Constitution of India, affirming the concurrent findings of the Central Administrative Tribunal and the High Court regarding the implementation of the Anomaly Committee's recommendations for pay fixation of Police Constables in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Court clarified that while the Anomaly Committee's decision is not binding, there was no justifiable ground to interfere with the lower courts' decisions. The order on payment of interest by way of costs was vacated, but the High Court's order would revive if arrears are not paid within six months.
