Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court which dismissed the landowners' appeal regarding compensation for land acquired under the Land Acquisition Act. The Court found that the total land acquired was 36 Bigha 12 Biswas, as established by government records, and the landowners failed to provide evidence supporting their claim of 45 Bigha 3 Biswas. Consequently, the Court affirmed that the compensation paid was appropriate and no further compensation was due to the appellants.
