Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court ruled that the respondents, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra, Dr. Ravindra Nath Mishra, and Dr. Bachau Prasad Pathak, were not appointed as ad hoc Lecturers at Lala Laxmi Narain Degree College, as they failed to apply in accordance with the advertisement dated 12th January 1988. The Court found that the High Court erred in assuming their appointment was pursuant to the advertisement, leading to an incorrect entitlement to ad hoc pay scales under the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Services Commission Act, 1980. Consequently, the Supreme Court allowed the appeals, overturning the High Court's decision.
