The Supreme Court disposed of Civil Appeal No. 8880/2014 in terms of a Joint Memo dated 31.07.2017, where the appellant agreed to pay Rs. 61,00,000 to the respondent, which was acknowledged by the respondent's counsel. The Court permitted the appellant to withdraw the deposit made earlier along with accrued interest. Additionally, both parties were directed to pay Rs. 25,000 to the Supreme Court Bar Clerk's Association, reflecting the successful mediation process facilitated by Mr. R. Basant.
