Judgment text excerpt
The Supreme Court upheld the validity of Sections 3(6), 3(6a), and 3(6b) of the Himachal Pradesh Private Medical Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act, 2006, as amended by Act No.24 of 2015, affirming the High Court's dismissal of the writ petition challenging these provisions. The Court ruled that the 2006 Act, which regulates admissions and fee fixation in private medical institutions, is constitutionally valid and does not infringe upon the rights of the appellants under the Maharishi Markandeshwar University (Establishment and Regulation) Act, 2010. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed, and the High Court's decision was upheld.
