The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's declaration that the land acquisition proceedings lapsed under Section 24(2) of The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, due to non-taking of possession and non-payment of compensation by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The Court clarified that this dismissal does not preclude the appellant from initiating fresh acquisition proceedings under the 2013 Act within one year. The appeal was dismissed without costs.
