Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that in land acquisition cases, the Reference Court must consider all relevant documents, including those indicating higher land values. The Court found that the Reference Court erred in ignoring a document that fixed the land value at Rs. 9,000 per marla, and thus determined that the fair compensation should be Rs. 10,000 per marla, in light of the land's potential value and its inclusion in municipal limits. The appeals were allowed, and the appellants were entitled to all statutory benefits.
