Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court erred in directing the Union Territory, Chandigarh to reconsider the case of the writ petitioners in light of the judgment in Jasbir Singh Bakshi v. Union Territory, Chandigarh, as that case was not applicable due to the different circumstances regarding default and resumption. The Court emphasized that the writ petitioners had already missed the opportunity to seek further time for payment as per the earlier order dated 12.12.1991. Consequently, the appeal was allowed, the impugned judgment was set aside, and the matter was remitted to the High Court for fresh consideration in accordance with law.
