Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the disciplinary action taken against the respondent, a constable in the Central Reserve Police Force, for leaving the camp without permission and consuming alcohol, which violated the provisions of Section 11(1) of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 and Rule 27-A(1) of the Central Reserve Police Force Rules, 1955. The Court found that the departmental inquiry was conducted fairly and the charges were substantiated beyond doubt. Consequently, the Court dismissed the appeal, affirming the removal of the respondent from service and the forfeiture of his awards under Section 12(1) of the Act.
