The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision to quash the notifications issued under Sections 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, regarding the acquisition of land in Faridabad. The Court found that the acquisition was not justified as the earlier proceedings for the same land had been dropped, and the purpose of acquisition for the Surajkund Tourist Complex was not substantiated. Consequently, the Award dated 05.05.2006 was also quashed, affirming the rights of the landowners, including Eros City Developers Pvt. Ltd.
