The Supreme Court held that under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, the appellants are entitled to the same compensation of Rs. 32,951 per bigha awarded in a prior case (RFA No. 859/1995) for adjacent land acquired for a Power House. The Court emphasized that since the lands are contiguous, the compensation should be uniform. The impugned judgment was modified to reflect this compensation, and the appeals were allowed with no order as to costs.
