Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the employment status of the appellants, who claimed to be Class-IV employees of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. The Court found no evidence of direct employment by the Hospital, as the appellants were paid through a contractor. However, to protect their interests, the Court directed that in future Class-IV vacancies, the appellants should be given preference according to their seniority, disregarding any age bar. The appeals were disposed of with no costs awarded.
