The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal by the Delhi Development Authority, affirming that the issue was covered against the appellant by a prior judgment. The Court granted the appellant one year to initiate fresh acquisition proceedings under Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. It clarified that if no fresh proceedings are initiated within this period, the appellant must return possession of the land to the original owner.
