DELHI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY vs RAJAN SHARMA .

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal by the Delhi Development Authority, affirming the decision in Civil Appeal No. 8477 of 2016. The Court granted the appellant one year to exercise its rights under Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, for initiating fresh acquisition proceedings. It was clarified that failure to initiate proceedings within this period would result in the return of physical possession of the land to the original owner.
