The Supreme Court held that the appellants are entitled to enhanced compensation for acquired land at the rate of Rs.325/- per Sq. Yd., consistent with the decision in Ashrafi & Ors. Vs. State of Haryana, 2013 (5) SCC 527. The Court acknowledged the delay in filing the appeals but determined that the interest of justice necessitated granting the higher compensation rate. However, the appellants will not receive statutory benefits for the period of delay in filing the special leave petitions.
