The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's decision which reduced the compensation awarded to the appellant under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. The Court confirmed that the appellant was entitled to Rs. 1,15,200/- for future loss of income instead of the Rs. 1,80,000/- previously awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal. The appellant was also directed to refund the excess amount of Rs. 64,800/- with interest at 12% per annum to the respondent-Corporation.
