Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the High Court's dismissal of the appellant's writ petition challenging the cancellation of his promotion to Stenographer, citing the lack of eligibility under the State Government's letter No.C-3-7/09/3/49 dated 23.02.1989, which requires five years of experience as a Steno-typist and passing of shorthand and typing exams. The Court found that the appellant did not meet these criteria, having only been absorbed as a Steno-typist in 2002 and passing the requisite exams in 2000. Consequently, the Court affirmed the decision to revert the appellant to his previous position, holding that he was not entitled to the promotion.
