Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court allowed the appeal against the High Court's order rejecting bail under Sections 120-B, 420, 467, 468, and 471 IPC, and Sections 13(2) and 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Court held that the investigation was complete, a charge sheet had been filed, and the appellant, aged 71 and ailing, had been in custody for six months without a prior criminal record. Consequently, the Court set aside the High Court's order and granted bail to the appellant during the trial.
