Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the validity of amendments made to the Export Import (EXIM) Policy 2002-2007 under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. The Court held that the amendments, which excluded certain goods from export performance computation and disallowed imports under the scheme, were valid and did not infringe upon the rights of exporters. The Court upheld the decisions of the High Courts, affirming the legality of the Notifications issued by the Central Government.
