The Court overturned the Allahabad High Court's decision which had relied on Mukesh K. Tripathi vs. Senior Divisional Manager, LIC & Ors., stating that the High Court erred in determining the status of Development Officers. Consequently, the award of the tribunal directing restitution of pay-scale and payment of arrears was upheld, restoring the rights of the aggrieved officers.
