The Supreme Court ruled that the respondents, who were retired lecturers and librarians, are entitled to the revised pay scales as per the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay Scales for Government College Teachers) Rules, 1988 and 1999. The Court held that since the respondents had completed the requisite service in the Selection Scale prior to 1.1.2006, they are eligible for the benefits of the pay revision effective from 1.1.1996. The judgment affirmed the applicability of the revised pay scales and pension benefits for pre-1.9.2006 pensioners as per the government circular issued in 2008.
