Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court regarding the validity of notices issued under Section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Rights in Land to Pattadar Passbooks Act, 1971, and Section 166B of the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Land Revenue Act, 1317F. The Court established that the abolition of Jagirs under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) (Abolition of Jagirs) Regulation, 1358 Fasli, extinguished pre-existing rights, and unauthorized entries in Khasra Pahani were not valid. The Court affirmed the High Court's ruling that the petitioners' claims to the land were not legally tenable, leading to the dismissal of the appeals.
