The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) regarding the pay scale of the respondents, affirming that they were entitled to the pay scale of Rs.1150-1500 from their initial appointment dates as Junior Machine Operators under the re-designated post of Data Entry Operator Grade 'A'. The Court clarified that the adjustment of their services to the post of Computor did not negate their entitlement to the higher pay scale.
