Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of the appellants under Sections 324, 452, and 323 IPC, affirming the High Court's decision to reduce the sentence from three years to six months for Section 324 IPC and from six months to three months for Sections 452 and 323 IPC. The Court found sufficient evidence from injured witnesses and injury reports to support the conviction. The Court also ruled that the High Court's decision not to extend the benefit of the Probation of Offenders Act was justified given the serious nature of the offences and lack of extenuating circumstances.
