Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court dismissed the civil appeals filed by S.K. Verma's legal representatives, finding no merit in the claims. However, to resolve the ongoing litigation, the Court directed the respondent-Corporation to pay an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 1 lakh to Smt. Nirmal Verma, the widow of the deceased, with a stipulation that no further litigation would be initiated against the Corporation. The Court clarified that the dismissal does not allow the Corporation to recover any amounts already paid to the appellant.
