Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that the High Court improperly disposed of appeals without addressing the merits, contrary to the earlier order dated 4.04.2012 which mandated a merits-based decision. The Court allowed the appeals, set aside the impugned judgment, and restored the appeals for hearing on merits before the High Court. The interim relief granted by the Supreme Court was extended until 30.11.2015.
