K.K.DIXIT vs RAJASTHAN HOUSING BOARD .

The Supreme Court addressed the eligibility criteria for promotion of Diploma Holder and Degree Holder Engineers under the Rajasthan Housing Board Employees Conditions of Recruitment and Promotion Regulations, 1976. The Court held that Diploma Holders who acquire the AMIE qualification are entitled to count their prior service experience for promotion to the post of Project Engineer (Sr.) in the quota fixed for Degree Holders. Additionally, the Court ruled that separate seniority lists for Diploma Holders and Degree Holders should be maintained for promotion purposes, thereby upholding the need for distinct categorization in promotions.
