Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Section 8 of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, the plaintiff, as a Class II heir, is entitled to inherit the suit house after the death of Karedla Satyanarayna. The Court found that the defendant, who claimed ownership as the deceased's wife, had no legal basis for her possession as she was merely a caretaker and her rights ceased upon his death. The Court reversed the High Court's decision, reinstating the trial court's decree for ejectment in favor of the plaintiff.
