U.O.I. vs S.C.KARMAKAR .

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal challenging the Delhi High Court's order which upheld the Central Administrative Tribunal's directive to grant Office Superintendents in the C.B.I. a non-functional grade of Rs.8000-13500/- on par with Section Officers of the Central Secretariat, effective from 3.10.2003. The Court noted that parity in pay had been granted to Office Superintendents in other attached offices, and it would not be proper to reopen the matter for C.B.I. Office Superintendents. The Central Government was directed to clear arrears within three months.
