Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court addressed the appeals by New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) against the Allahabad High Court's orders directing NOIDA to grant benefits under the Government Order dated 22nd October 2002 to Sarvpriya Sahakari Avas Samiti and Shivalik Sahakari Avas Samiti. The Court held that the rights of the cooperative societies, which were established before the declaration of the area as an industrial development zone under the U.P. Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, must be respected. The Court upheld the High Court's decision, affirming the entitlement of the societies to develop residential plots for their members.
