The Supreme Court dismissed the Transfer Petition (C.) No.1301 of 2011 filed by the Union of India, stating that since the main Writ Petition had already been disposed of by the High Court, the question of transferring the disposed matter to the Supreme Court was moot. The Court held that the Transfer Petition had become infructuous and therefore ordered its dismissal accordingly.
