Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court modified its earlier judgment dated July 20, 2012, regarding the principle of 'One Bar One Vote' by including the Supreme Court Advocate-on-Record Association (SCAORA) in the list of associations whose members are disqualified from voting in the SCBA elections if they contested elections in other court-annexed Bar Associations from 2007 to 2012. The Court held that this modification was necessary to clarify the eligibility criteria for voting and participation in SCBA meetings. The application for modification was accepted unanimously by the interested parties, and the other prayer regarding the number of filings was not modified as it was deemed sufficient under existing provisions.
