Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court upheld the Andhra Pradesh High Court's decision regarding the ban imposed by the State Government on filling aided teacher posts, as per Memo No.1280/COSE/A2/2004-4 dated 20th October, 2004. The Court ruled that the ban does not apply to recruitment processes already initiated prior to the memo's issuance, thereby allowing the completion of selection processes for those vacancies. The Court affirmed the High Court's directive to the authorities to permit the completion of recruitment and to refrain from transferring teachers deemed surplus.
