Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court modified its earlier judgment dated July 20, 2012, regarding the principle of 'One Bar One Vote' by including the Supreme Court Advocate-on-Record Association (SCAORA) in the restrictions on voting for the SCBA elections. The Court clarified that individuals who contested elections in other Bar Associations from 2007 to 2012, including those from SCAORA, are not eligible to vote or attend SCBA General Body meetings. The modification was accepted by all interested parties, and the Court found no need to alter the provisions regarding the number of filings in a year as per the existing regulations.
