Judgment text excerpt

The Supreme Court held that under Section 89 of the Bihar Reorganisation Act, 2000, all pending proceedings related to territories transferred to Jharkhand must be transferred to the corresponding court in Jharkhand. The Court found that the judgments of the High Court and the Additional District Judge were manifestly illegal as they lacked jurisdiction to hear the appeal after the bifurcation of Bihar. Consequently, the Court set aside the lower court judgments and directed the matter to be transferred to the appropriate court in Jharkhand.
